What do you do with your old brake calipers?

I recently upgraded to Black Magic Brakes. Now I have 4 old calipers and it seems I can’t get a core “refund” from the local auto parts store since I didn’t buy my new ones there.
Do you guys just toss your old calipers or are there places that take them to refurbish? And maybe toss me a few bucks for them??

FB marketplace or metal recycling? Neither will bring much but nice not to waste stuff.

I used Powerstop's core return program, filled out the form on their site and printed it, mailed them in (which was probably going to net me zero dollars after shipping but at least I was recycling) and they emailed me asking what I wanted them to do with them.

I said I sent them the core return form from their site. They said they don't do core returns. I told them where they could put them.

So lesson learned, straight to the scrap pile next time.

They go here, with any other stock parts I've removed.

I have a “magic” alley behind my house. I put something out there and within a day or two it disappears 🤣

My non-returnable cores go to 1- my cousin who owns a shop, or 2- my scrap pile. If you have a friend with a shop, sometimes they sell cores, sometimes they just scrap. Either way, I don't have to deal with it, and in my situation, my donations might buy my cousin lunch now and then.

I put my stuff at the end of the driveway with a sign: "$100 or best offer. $100 o mejor oferta." It's gone within the hour. Got rid of an old, leaky water heater that way.

I have a magic curb like that too. Crazy thing...I've posted stuff with a "free" sign and it sits. Change it to 10 bucks and its gone w/in an hour!

Isn't that stupid. It's like free = worthless, but if you ask a price, and they can get it for 1/2, they somehow win. I did that with an old recliner recently. Two days at the curb with a free sign and nobody wanted it. Two hours with $20 on it and it was gone.

Sad state of affairs

I save mine for weighing down tarps or metal roofing scrap pieces that are used for temporary shelters for goats or things...like a transmission you don't want filled with water.
