I've got a new to me LJ. Jeep has 140K on it. I get a clunk/bang when making a sharp right on dry pavement. I've been going though and getting a baseline on fluids. The rear Dana 44 was pretty dark with some bright flakes that I'm guessing are clutch material. I'm no expert but the wear pattern on the gears looked fine, no leaks/noise, and seams smooth other than when turning hard.

Rebuilding the Trac-Loc requires tools that I dont have. ARB or any "true" locker would not be needed or be in budget, offroad is farm fields/woods, not rocks. I see that PowerTrax has a No-Slip #9204443020 that is a drop in. Some of the comment/reviews mention understeer and hash on dry pavement. What are the road manners really like?

LSD Experience: I've had Trac-Locs in other Jeeps that behaved normally and was happy with them. Put an Auburn in my Dodge Dakota which I really liked. Current RAM 2500 has the factory TrueTrac. I need something well behaved for rain/snow not rocks.

Also I plan to swap in a NP242 Transfer Case and am curious how this would behave when running in Full Time mode?

That is a lunchbox locker which is not recommended in the rear axle of a street use vehicle generally.

However I'm planning to buy that very locker for my front Dana 30.
