I actually paint the parts of the tie rod and ball joint that have threads as well, and the outside of the castle nuts. I just go really light with a rattle can so the threads don't gob up. They will rust up fast if you don't. I also use anti seize when installing the tie rod sleeve/clamp.

p.s., paint the clamp also.

I did the threads on one then tested it and boy that was mess as the parts didn’t want to screw together. So didn’t paint the rest of the threads. I did use some anti seize on them.

Seems like most dont paint and just use the seize. Figured id just do that. also thanks for the mention of the clamp. I thought it looks painted since its black
