What do you do with your old brake calipers?

I recently upgraded to Black Magic Brakes. Now I have 4 old calipers and it seems I can’t get a core “refund” from the local auto parts store since I didn’t buy my new ones there. Do you guys just toss your old calipers or are there places that take them to refurbish? And maybe toss me a few...

    How's your hunting season going?

Hunting sits higher on my priority list than my Jeep, I’m sorry to say but it must be true because my project is definitively paused while I chase deer (and moose this year!). Figured since I’m doing a lot of WTJF browsing on stand I might as well start a thread where I can hear how...

    Tire chain recommendations?

I take my other vehicle (Ram 2500) up north deer hunting and want to get a set of tire chains for it. I drive hundreds of miles of unmaintained logging roads that can be pretty rough and when the conditions stack up they get icy and slick. Sometimes there are high pucker sections with a steep...

RAM drag link recall & alignment

A while back I had the drag link recall done on my 2018 Ram 2500. As I understand it the jam nuts on the drag link adjustment sleeve would loosen up and cause steering failures, and the fix was to weld the jam nuts to the sleeve. I didn’t think much about it at the time but I just got this from...

JKS quick disconnect problem: post too close to stabilizer bracket

Installing my JKS QDs and I can’t get the end link on the post on the passenger side. It hits the steering stabilizer bracket. Is this bracket or the end link bracket out of position? Am I doing something boneheaded? Thanks for any help!

Seal off this gaping hole in the spring mount?

Just noticed this big hole collecting water & debris and making rust. This is where the front drivers side spring mounts. I just removed the bump stop cup and a bunch of sand and rust fell out of here. So I’m wondering if people typically seal these up somehow?

    Granite's Currie suspension upgrade

I bought my 2005 Rubicon from the original, only owner in 2020. His son is a certified mechanic and they also had a nicely built YJ, which was encouraging. Generally I have found he took great care of this Jeep, including a valiant effort to save it from rust due to road salt; overall it’s in...

Body rust: what would you do?

I’ve had some rust bubbling up through the paint and figured I’d tackle it like Chris Fix does. So I removed the fender flares, fender liners, and rubi rails. In doing so I found some areas that were much worse and some evidence of prior patch work by the PO. As I started wire-wheeling I...
