Hey all. I organized a fall cruise with our family of Jeepers through the local Missouri River Valley backroads. The hope was to time it with the color changing leaves, but the weather hasn't been cooperating lately and has been too hot without rain. So, it just turned into a cruise instead. As I've mentioned in my build thread, I come from a family of long time jeepers with my Dad starting the addiction. It carried over into my mom's brothers and so far there's about 9 Jeeps between my immediate family, uncles, and cousins. Only 5 were on this trip as my and my cousin's second jeep were at home and two of my uncles' jeeps need major repairs. Hoping they'll be able to join next year. I spent more time than I care to admit laying this route out; trying to stay on backroads where we could go slower (since we'd be mostly topless) and hopefully get some good views. Additionally, there are some county roads with water crossings I wanted to hit as well. Unfortunately, we're in a pretty severe drought, so those were not as fun as they could be. Had some time restraints so we started about 8:30. Temp was about 39 to start off.
Fearless leader up front. (some pics are clearer than others)
Pulled off for photo op.
My '04 TJR, cousin's '23 JLU Sahara, cousin's '01 TJ Sahara, cousin's V8 '83 CJ7 Renegade, and my parents' '83 CJ7 they bought new
I've got a pretty good shot of my parents going through this area last year with great colors. No joy this year though.
Some of the low water crossings that would typically be more fun
A little deeper crossing. Didn't get one of my cousin's CJ, but here's some splashing we did. This was mid afternoon so it was starting to get a bit warmer and the cool water was welcome. Parents' CJ:
