Wiring the 42RLE overdrive for off by default

It awesome, pretty much did this so my daughter doesn’t have to think about it every time.
Been driving my manual for years so when I picked this auto Jeep up I’ve had to get used to the shifting patterns. Didn’t make sense to have O/D ON all the time and I don’t really like the way it feels driving around town in that mod

Man I feel the same way- that’s awesome.

I did the mod last week, and I love it. It took me some time to figure out where the wires were on the rockers, duh! But it makes me happy to not have to switch off the overdrive. Thanks for sharing this mod.

Awesome.

I genuinely enjoy not having to think about my overdrive and having it come on automatically when I shift in gear. Thanks for posting.

I think it may also increase transmission life, or at least hope that.

Exactly- the factory set it up backwards, thanks to the ratios-

The new @Wranglerfix PCM may make this mod obsolete. Seems to really help most autos with improved shift points.

I haven’t needed to touch the OD switch since Juggernaut showed me how to raise the shift points using HP Tuners. The throttle is much more sensitive now.

Kicking down 4-3 is smooth in town. OD holds well at higher speeds (doesn’t kick down when I don’t want it to).

Though, I may want to adjust my lower shift points some so the throttle isn't as sensitive in the rocks.
