Took my friend and Halley on a trail from the 95 (north of Mt. Charleston) to the 93 (south of Coyote Springs) yesterday.

Saw the canyon and decided to get down and explore it a bit.

Had zero expectations going in so it was nice to have such a great day.

Took my friend’s neighbor (toyota guy) and Halley to the local trails today behind lone mountain. Ended up taking a trail less travelled down into a mining pit we never knew overlooked Vegas.

Ended up in the mine again the next evening. Before climbing out of the pit, I drove up to a person waving his arm and wearing a reflective worker vest.

He ended up being a half clothed meth head in his boxers and had his t-shirt on as a right shoe. Dude said he climbed over the mountain and then asked if we were headed for California (no man lol). I left him be after he said he broke a window to get into a truck.

No picture of said man?

Haha no man I wish. I was taken back a bit when I realized he wasn't a worker.

I offered to call him a ride or call his folks, and I gave him directions on how to get out of the place. He seemed pretty set on staying there or going to CA.

Ahh, the scenery looks familiar. Lots of great places to go in S. NV. I was part of the Desert Wranglers when I lived there and we literally hit a new trail every other weekend. Great pics nonetheless!

Thanks! I didn't know where the best trails were tbh, I just knew I wanted to explore a bit while visiting an old friend.

if you ever have a full day to kill or looking for an awesome camping spot! About halfway through Mormon Well Road is probably the best camping in NV.

I didn't see that sign, which doesn't surprise me with how big the area is.

We entered Corn Creek Rd (off the 95 at the wildlife center) and then took Mormon Well Rd until we hit the 93.

Here's a photo taken from the Mormon Pass area. I believe we are talking about the same general area :)

See any Mule deer or other wildlife? Nice pics!

Thanks :)

Sure did, saw a herd of 4-5 healthy mule deer run across the trail after we spooked them, then saw a few more about 150 yards away later in the day.

Ahhh I see now! I used to run that trail the opposite direction, 95 to 93. If memory serves me correctly, this was the start of the trail from where the sign is posted. I did A LOT of trails so I’m trying to recall the details. 😂
